Picked up a little swarm in Horsham tonight. It was high up in an apple tree so I use the bee vac. Took them home and put them into the green and white Nuc. Lets hope they stay there.
On this occasion I used the bee vac as a vessel and didn’t allow the bees up into the wooden nuc. This allowed me to shook swarm them straight into the poly nuc on arrival. In total they spent about an hour in the bee vac. There was a lot of fanning but a lot of the bees did take to the air.

Note to self: Next time you do a shook swarm you need to put an empty box on the top to prevent the bees from flying all over the place. Dumping the ball of bees onto the top of the nuc was not nearly as clean and easy as dumping them into an empty nuc box on top of the nuc that you want them in. I even had the spare red hive there to facilitate this!!
