OK so the time has come to add a super to the Yellow Hive. This was the first time adding to the set-up so thought it would be interesting.

Process was as easy as I had anticipated. I filled the super with cutcomb frames as they are the only ones I have for the shallow supers that came with the Technoset hive. Looking forwards to getting some cut comb as I have not harvested any like this for a good few years.
Thought he feeder compartment was full of comb and bees. This is how it looked clean whit the green flap hiding the compartment for a block of sugar in the winter. the bees had come up and filled that with brace comb and honey. The next problem was that when the liquid feeder is full of bees there is no way of getting them out. This was a real pain to empty.
