Green Poly – Station F

18/5/25

Quick inspection to see if we can see and mark the queen. Really bad tempered bees. Filing much of the brood box with brood so looking to be really productive. Didn’t see the queen but They are clearly a really healthy colony so leave them to it. Surprised by how much they have done in the last moth.

Plan: Leave well alone. Lets hope they settle. If they grow to be big and productive then I can put a super on them this year otherwise just leave them for the year.

Collected a swarm from the gutter of a house in Broadbridge heath. Installed the swarm into the green poly and left them to it.

Currently housing a swarm that was picked up from Broadbridge Heath. The swarm was collected from a high gutter using the bee vac and moved to the hive later that afternoon. Since then i have simply left them alone. They have lots of activity and have been bringing in pollen so I know the queen has started laying. They are due an inspection soon where I will gauge how they are tempered and if they are laying in a nice pattern.
